I installed this in my 2011 F01 and the transformation is incredible. The Snapdragon 665 is buttery smooth—I can jump between the original BMW menus and Android 13 instantly. The 1920×720 HD resolution is so sharp that it makes the factory backup camera look like a new HD unit.
The AG anti-glare screen is a must-have for the 7 Series cabin; even with the sunroof wide open, I can see Google Maps perfectly. Wireless CarPlay connects automatically every time I start the car. It handles multitasking like a pro—I often run a split-screen with Spotify and Waze, and the 4GB RAM keeps it snappy. If you want to modernize your BMW without losing the iDrive functionality, this is the best unit on the market.

I love that I can pop a SIM card in and have dedicated data. The dual-band WiFi is also very fast. All my steering wheel buttons work just like they did with the stock screen.

The colors are vivid and the touch response is iPad-level fast. The anti-glare coating is high quality and makes the dash look much more expensive.

The hardware is definitely 5-star quality. The Snapdragon 665 (SIM6125) is the fastest chip I’ve seen in an aftermarket unit. However, I’m giving it 4 stars because the BMW 7 Series dashboard is very complex.
Tucking the main harness and the LVDS cables behind the head unit is a real challenge—it took me quite a while to get the screen to sit flush. Also, a pro-tip for E65 owners: make sure you confirm your CCC vs CIC system before ordering, as the plugs are different. Once installed, it’s flawless, but be prepared for a 2-3 hour job if you’re doing it yourself.

The screen is beautiful and the Android 13 OS is very stable. I’m only docking one star because the audio levels between the Android side and the original radio needed some boosting in the ‘Factory Settings’ menu to match up. Otherwise, it’s a perfect upgrade.
